## How much motorcycle insurance do I need?

In Minnesota and Wisconsin, motorcyclists are required by law to be insured with at least liability coverage. If you finance or lease the motorcycle, you will most likely be required to purchase collision coverage and comprehensive coverage.

Once you own the bike outright, you can choose if you’d would like to keep the comprehensive or collision coverage or only insure with liability.

## Bodily Injury Liability

 If you are found to be the cause of an accident while on your motorcycle, bodily injury liability will cover any injuries that occurred during that accident. This coverage extends to medical fees and loss of income.

## Collision Insurance

 If your motorcycle is leased or financed, collision insurance will most likely not be an option for you. This insurance specifically covers your vehicle damage in the case of an accident.

## Property Damage Liability

 In the case of an accident you are found to be the cause of, property damage liability will cover any damage to the property or person of the other vehicle(s) in the accident.

## Comprehensive Insurance

 Comprehensive coverage in Minnesota and Wisconsin is also referred to as "other than collision" coverage. There are other things to worry about, aside from motorcycle accidents, like harsh weather, theft, falling objects, and vandalism. We highly recommend this type of coverage in conjunction with bodily injury insurance.
